Does anyone know how to fit a Sturmey Archer 3 speeds?

setting the toggle chain is pretty simple.do you mean fit as in putting the wheel in the dropouts?or fit one to a bike you have?

I mean that the first gear is too noisy in my bike (Brilliant Micro by Pashley).

sheldon brown,google it.
what do you mean by noisy?crunching?is it slipping?try putting some oil in,where the toggle chain goes in the side of the hub.
or take it to a bike shop,sometimes the pal springs break.
but some noise is normal in 1st and 3rd.it's the planetary gears going round.
