Since I still can not post to classifieds, I decided to start this topic here. Im slowly collecting parts, so it wont feel too expensive at the end, but I know from experience that like this it will be more pricey... but its part of the fun and i should get the kind of bike that I want. Planning to buy 2012 model Santa Cruz V10 carbon frame, used and build a bike around it. Since i dont have frame yet, im just getting parts, its a bit backwords but it is what it is. Im not in a hurry so im sure i will find that frame at some point So far I have Mavic 823 rims with Hadley hubs, found both of these unused and very good price. Maxxis Minion 2,5" UST tyres.
I've got a 50mm KCNC stem(black) you can have for 10 euro. Imight have a couple of disc rotors too (180mm and 200mm)
Thanks for the offer. Im waiting first to get that frame, then I will buy parts like stem etc. Good used brakes I could buy, like formula the one, cranks as well
So tempting to go ahed and buy frame from U.S., so much stuff available and so cheap. But im afraid customs here, they can come up with what ever price for me to pay...
Just bought brand new V10, 2012 model from Santa Cruz Sale, decent price. Now I just have to wait it to arrive..
What kind of stem that is, direct mount ? Got a picture ? Now at the moment looking for these parts - brakes, whole set, Formula the one, or shimano XT/Saint - Cranks, 165/170mm 83bb - Fox 40 rc2 FIT - 1,5"-1,8" reducer headset - and that direct mount stem to FOX 40
I don't have any of that stuff. I'd ask you what you're riding in the meantime but I think you said elsewhere that you're recovering from a fall or something. In any case, have fun putting your bike together!
Oh! Frame coming up. Let's hope for a good outcome, so fingers crossed in the hope Customs officers don't decide to pick on your box. :rasta
Seems like I have to wait a bit longer to get that frame here. Parts are slowly arriving, got my Hadley hubs yesterday, what an awesome hubs they are, planning to lace them this weekend. Hadley hubs + Mavic 823 + DT champion, should be OK set.
Cant decide which brakes to look for. -Saint 820 -Zee (are they as good as saints, just missing some easy adjusters ) -XT, good enough ? -Formula The One -Hope V4
Hi Zaska, I read that Zee have insufficient braking and XT's only for lightweight riders, I use Avid code for several years and works fantastic, In preference order for me, -Avid code -Formula The One (Always my dream) -Hope ( Expensive) Cheers
How about Saint 820 ? Any good ? I read that many ppl use saint calipers with XT levers, but that was last year, is the new saint better ? I was thinking about Formula the one, but then i read that some ppl have problems with them, and saints would be more care free. Hope, only good things about those, but very expensive...
Saint 820 and Avid Code, best ones! But never tried Saint. Both are good choice. Formula the one is only two pistons, They are powerfull but I will use only in smooth land with perfect and banked curves!

Why an SRAM cassette with a Zee mech? I assume you must be using an SRAM chain then? I believe there are size differences between 10 speed SRAM and 10 speed Shimano. Also, I'd save a little money and get a zee shifter. I have one and it's excellent.
I do have Sram chain. I thought 10s Shimano and Sram are the same, so i can mix casette and derailleur, got sram 1050 cassette + 1051chain because it was good price. XT shifter BCS it was same price with zee, HT looks better... eh
I'm not sure 100% - In the past i've always used Shimano mechs and SRAM chains. When I went to 10speed I was advised not to mix SRAM and Shimano as there is incompatibility. Although, I doubt there'll be problems using an SRAM chain on SRAM cassette.
On my other bike I have 9s and im mixing sram and shimano and it works, so i just assumed it would work on 10s as well, i hope it does...
