    Hi Nacho,

That is great news. Your issue should be fixed now, it was likely a hydraulic noise from the rebound being slightly too closed.

    Hi llan,

About the shock travel (first 1-5mm) I should say it is stiff but but I'm not an expert and this is about how you feel it. Anyway I think it's fine.

I have played with the knobs and it seems the noise have gone. I haven't test it yet on a track, so, as soon as I can test I let you know if the whistle noise has definately gone.

Thank you very much for your advices. We'll keep in touch.

    Best regards

    Nacho

    Hi Nacho,

When you push the saddle with the shock locked out, the shock should feel stiffer than normal right away. If there is an initial play in the shock travel (first 1-5mm) where the shock is not stiff, let me know.

    Hi llan,

I'll check the number of click of rebound and the shock behabiour when I push slowly on the saddle this afternoon when I arrive at home.

Is there any behaviour expected when I push the saddle?

    Best regards!

    Hello Nacho,

There’s two more things you could check:

How many clicks of rebound do you have?

When you lock out the shock and push slowly on the saddle, is there an initial play before the shock gets hard, or is the shock hard right away?

    Thanks,

    Hi Nacho,

Try using a 3mm allen key to turn the knob, sometimes it can be hard to turn with your fingers and it can seem like there are fewer clicks.

    Hi Llan,

I will try what you said.

I have counted the number of clicks on High Compression and it only has 19 clicks, so maybe there is something wrong with the high,

What do you think about this?

When I arrived at home after work I will check the number of clicks on each knob to check they have 27 clicks in total.

    Thank you

    Nacho

    2015-03-03 9:16 GMT+01:00 Info BOS MTB <info@bosmtb.com>:

    Hello Nacho,

Try adding 3-5 clicks of high speed compression.

This whistling noise is normal from oil passing through the high speed circuit when the lockout is closed. However it may decrease as your break in the shock a bit.

Each knob has 27 clicks total. However the range we recommend using is from 5-22 clicks.

Objet : BOS Kirk whistle noise

    Hi,

Today I have received a new YT Capra CF PRO Race that is equiped with the BOS Kirk. I haven't done any ride yet, I've just made the assembly and setups on the shock and fork, but when I made a check and compress the kirk shock with the lock out lever enabled i realized that it produces a whistle sound. When I test the same compression without the lock out lever enabled this sound doesn't appears.

The shock and the bike is brand new. No ride on it yet and no use. Is it normal the sound? Will it disappear once the oil, seals and air chambers are settled with the use?

I have checked several blogs, internet and googled looking similar cases and I haven't found anything about this sound and also based on my experience I don't think this is normal behaviour.

Summarizing, could you please give the possible reason/cause for this noise and a solution to solve this problem?

Find attatched a video where you can see what I mean with the noise.

Looking forward to hear from you. Thank you in advance

    Best regards,

No la he pesado.
