    Dear amegesa,

    Thank you for contacting Garmin International.

    The DOC_APPLICATIONDATAVERSION.CPP error message is due to corrupt data on your computer. If Training Center will not open to allow you to export your History, Workouts, or Courses, then the data may be unrecoverable. Instructions are provided below for both Windows XP and Windows Vista to help you correct this problem. Use whichever is appropriate for your system. Before you start, make certain Training Center has been closed.
    Windows XP:
    ===========

    1. Go to your Start menu, and click on 'My Computer.'

    2. Double-click on 'Local Disk(C:).'

    3. Now locate and double-click on 'Documents and Settings.'

    4. Find the 'All Users' folder and double-click on it.

    5. If you see an 'Application Data' folder, double-click on it. Otherwise, follow these steps to view any hidden files:

    a. Go to the 'Tools' menu and select 'Folder Options...'

    b. Next, click on the 'View' tab.

    c. Find the 'Hidden files and folders' section, click on 'Show hidden files and folders,' and then click on 'OK.'

    Once the 'Application Data' folder is revealed, double-click on it to view its contents.

    6. Now you should see a 'GARMIN' folder. Double-click this folder.

    7. Inside, there will be a 'Training Center' folder. Right-click the folder and then choose 'Cut.'

    8. Right-click anywhere on your computer's desktop (the background picture), and choose 'Paste.'

    9. Once the data is moved to your desktop, try starting Training Center. It should open without an error.

    See additional instructions below, following the steps provided for Windows Vista.

    Windows Vista:
    ==============

    1. Go to your Start menu, and click on 'Computer.'

    2. Double-click on 'Local Disk(C:).'

    3. If you see an 'ProgramData' folder, double-click on it. Otherwise, follow these steps to view any hidden files:

    a. Click on the 'Organize' menu in the upper-left area of the window, and select 'Folder and Search Options.'

    b. Next, click on the 'View' tab.

    c. Find the 'Hidden files and folders' section, click on 'Show hidden files and folders,' and then click on 'OK.'

    You should now see a 'ProgramData' folder in the window. Double-click this folder to view the contents.

    4. Now you should see a 'GARMIN' folder. Double-click this folder.

    5. Inside, there will be a 'Training Center' folder. Right-click the folder and then choose 'Cut.'

    6. Right-click anywhere on your computer's desktop (the background picture), and choose 'Paste.'

    7. Once the data is moved to your desktop, try starting Training Center. It should open without an error.

    If Training Center opens successfully, then it's recommended that you update both Training Center and your GPS unit software to the most recent versions:

    Training Center: Garmin: Training Center Updates & Downloads

    GPS unit software: Garmin | WebUpdater

    At this point, the old training history will no longer be available within Training Center. If it is important for you to retain this information, it may be possible to salvage some of the data, but it's likely that the training history is unrecoverable. For further assistance with this, please contact our Customer Support Line at 800-800-1020 Monday through Friday, 8am-7pm CS for further assistance.

    A mí me ocurrio lo mismo, con la salvedad de que en el portátil (un Dell con windows XP) puedo trabajar, y en el PC con XP igual no. Al final, después de perder el tiempo con garmin, que me pidió que les llamara por teléfono, reinstalé el CD original y puedo usarlo, aunque es la versión vieja sin conexión con Google earth, e.t.c....
