Gamma has graphite... The Gamma has a slightly stiffer shell material that is some sort of a graphite/glass type weave. The regular Aliante (in both Ti and carbon rail models) has a carbon shell that ...is noticeably softer than the gamma..i.e. more "give" in the shell material. Some hard core racers find the carbon shell Aliante too soft for their liking....I prefer the softer shell esp. for long rides; but the Gamma was cheaper...the Gamma is heavier @ 270g. with Ti rails and the std. is under 250g. I believe. There was some mention of the carbon shell breaking down after time; but my Gamma has stayed the same for 20K miles. I think I paid $80...which seemed worth it compared to $140 or so for a deal on the carbon shell model.
