Ola! That's the end of my Spanish. I might get the chance to move to Madrid. Would I get much good riding done in evenings and weekends? I'm thinking exciting xc, freeride and downhill.

    Thanks

PS I wish I had found the English language option at the bottom before signing up. That was too much thinking for my hangover...

Don´t worry, be happy. Madrid´s mountains are really great for everything. You will find everything you need. Just have a look in rutas y quedadas and there in zona centro. You will find some pics and videos in the threats who show what I mean.

Hi! Well, in the evenings you can ride in the "Casa de Campo", you´ll probably know it because of the XC World Cup. Most of all for some XC after work, hahahah....

But the best comes in weekends. Just 45-50 kms from the city you can find a lot of places for riding. XC, Enduro (the way we call all-mountain) and some exciting Downhill trails, like "Abantos", "Navacerrada", "Los Leones" and some others.....In the summer there´s also a bikepark in the ski station of "La Pinilla" with several DHs......

In this forum you´ll find great people who will show you. Bye!!!!

Madrid is great for mountain bike; as you've been already told there are mountains 45 kilometres northward from the city. You've got lots of trails around the small cities around Madrid too, so if you decide to move to any of this cities you have the chance to ride there in the evenings. I live 21 kms southwards the city and everyday I can connect several villages on a 60 kms route; ideal for regular training!

The problem is maybe getting in contact with people, though the number of English speakers is increasing, it is not as easy to find somebody who speaks in English as it is in other European countries. Here in the forum you'll find some people. In case you need something, just write here in foreign bikers and sure you'll be answered.

By the way, if I may ask, where are you from?

If you finally come to Madrid, be welcome and enjoy!
