    Saludos

You should try some of the rides round Surrey way. Some of the names escape me (it's a few years since I lived there), Oxshott, Epsom, Boxhill, Reigate, etc all have some very good mountain biking. You can cycle along the Thames to Weybridge, follow the canals to Guilford then take the Downs link to the South downs. Lots of good stuff really.

Yes, that´s true indeed. I have been exploring Lodon area for now about one year and I found quite nice places for riding my bike. Epping Forest, Richmond, the Canals ... but I think my favourite one is Kent and its hilly paths and roads...

    Cheers!

I lived in London for 10 years. The main areas for mtb are, and like makem says, (1) [South] Surrey Hills - You can take a train to Dorking and ride on road to westcott, then there are networks of trails over leith hill, holbury hill, pitch hill, winterfold. You can get a 60km ride in all offroad and different from 1 week to the next, mind it's busy out there and alot of competition with other riders, walkers and horses for the land. Be respectful, and enjoy the teas and cheese straws in Peaslake. (2) [west] Swinley forest in Bracknell, where again the are a network of trails to discover (3) [northwest], the Chilterns for some large loops, and (4) [north] muddy winter but fast and twisty in summer , a network of trails where i cut my teeth, again the ability to remember the trails and mentally map them is very useful. Also for racing there are the gorrick events and also alas no more in their original state since the olympics, eastway summer race series.

    Hi German,

I am still around London. If you fancy a bike ride one of those weekends send me message !. I know now quite a lot of places where to train either with a MTB or with a race bike. In fact I've got both of them at home.

Have a look at my blog, londresapedales, and at my Wikiloc profile from there
