Hi All, I`ve recently moved to the area just outside Alhama de Murcia (Sierra de Espuña on the doorstep) I haven´t a clue where the trails go at the mo and any help would be greatly appreciated. I need to shed a bit of lard and dust off a few cobwebs and the mountains around here look perfect for the job. My Spanish isn´t too hot, though it would be good to get out there in like minded company of any nationality. Anyone fancies dragging around a slightly overweight Northern mountainbiker, please contact me through this forum cheers Phil

Hi, Welcome to the forums. If you want to get out and learn some trails we would be happy to meet up sometime, although we don´t know any trails in Espuna, but will be riding with some Spanish guys off here soon we hope. You picked a good location to move to you will probably learn the trails before we do! El Berro seems to be the place to leave from, so get out there and have fun.
Hi Guys That was quick! Thanks for the replies. I´ve managed to get my Kobe Ti hardtail here at the moment, but my Scott Genius MC40 will arrive in 2 weeks to save my back! It would be great to see you if you are up this way and when I´m a bit more organised I will be able to travel around to good mountain bike areas. Now I´ve found this forum I will check back regular. I am having to use internet shops as I have no connection yet. Phil
go to our new site only 3-4 weeks old www.freewebs.com/freeridespain still needs a little work yet:comor3
Hi dalyarfur, I think you've chosen one of the best areas to live being a biker. We usually go to ride there once or twice a month, if you follow the forum I'll let you know the dates we agree to go there and meeting points. "El Berro" is a good start point but we usually start at "el Trasvase", wich is located after the bar called "Jarro del Oro". If you buy the magazine "Bike" of this month, you'll find some information about Alhama and Espuña. ;-) Wellcome to the paradise! :-D
