    Hi everybody!

I would like to visit Sierra Nevada in October for mountain biking with some friends.

Does anybody know if mid October is a good time? Where is the best place to stay?
I've tried the official site but it looks like all the hotels in Monachill are close out of the skiing season. I did not get any answer from the tourism office so far...
We like steep and technical ascents and downhill (enduro style) and 2000hm ++ looks like a miracle. Where the best place to start riding? Where can I gen more information about riding at Sierra Nevada (the go-sierra-nevada) website only has information about skiing...

Many thanks in advance for your support,
    Have fun,
    Anton

Hi Anton, you know there are quite a few mountain bike guiding companies there right? If you like enduro I can recommend http://www.switch-backs.com/. I'm a Brit living in Granada and I've been out with them a couple of times. Mike (the owner) is a top guy and if you don't fancy a whole week of guiding, you can do what I do and pop up for a day or two of just riding. Apart from that, the area is littered with trails everywhere...one thing though, the wilderness creeps up pretty quick on you there, so just go prepared. Sweet trails though...
