1. Cierre cancelado
    He reescrito esta nota 10 veces porque las palabras no son lo mío y no se explicar la montaña rusa de emociones por la que estoy pasando.

    Por ahora se cancela el cierre. Siento las molestias.
    No voy a entrar a valorar los comentarios de algunas personas, cada uno es libre de opinar lo que quiera (siempre desde el respeto). Solo quería comentar, que la noticia de cierre no fue una cosa pensada en dos días sino en bastantes meses y llegó un momento en que era insostenible.
    También les quiero dar la razón aquellos que se quejan del abandono que sufría la web. Si, tenéis razón y es culpa exclusivamente mía.
    Y por último, esta situación cancela gracias a las múltiples personas que se han puesto en contacto conmigo insistiendo en revertir este cierre. Gracias.

    PD. Según tenga noticias las iré comentando de este modo.
  2. Tras 22 años de funcionamiento y muchas vivencias, lamentablemente, ha llegado el momento de decir adiós. Lo que empezó siendo un pequeño foro de "backup" de la web que muchos solíamos visitar, Solomountainbike, se convirtió en una web de referencia del ciclismo en general donde se compartían rutas, vivencias, fotos, kdds, etc.

    Gracias a todos los que contribuisteis moderando secciones, participando en los post, compartiendo vuestras aventuras y en general, haciéndonos participes de vuestras rutas en bicicleta.

    Ha sido un verdadero placer. Nos seguiremos viendo en los caminos/carreteras/watopia o donde sea siempre que se pueda ir en bici :)

    Who are we and what are our aims?

    We are not sure, opinions seem to differ. There are probably as many aims of critical mass as there are participants. Each individual comes there with his or her own idea of what it's about, and the sum of this makes up the Mass.

    Bici Crítica (Madrilenian Critical Mass) is a vision of a happy, bike-friendly world replacing our polluted, congested roads, a protest for better cycling facilities and against car culture, a mobile paean to bicycling’s joys, a merry ride downtown and through the neighbourhoods with friends, and more – all rolled into one convenient monthly ride right after work!
    Critical Mass is a party on two wheels to celebrate bicycling – a fast, friendly, clean, efficient, healthy, cheap, sensible, and fun way to get around the city.

    The Madrid monthly rides started in October 2004. It isn't just for cyclists, sometimes there are wheelchair users, roller skaters and other self-propelled people all together on the last Thursday of every month and reclaim the streets for a couple hours to celebrate cycling.     What’s 'Critical Mass'?

    Critical Mass (CM) is a celebration of cycling which takes place in hundreds of cities around the world. Cyclists, skaters, wheelchair users (in fact anyone self-propelled) all get together on one day of every month and reclaim the streets for a couple hours to celebrate cycling.

    Of course you can! Critical Mass is NOT an organisation. No one has control over it. It is completely non-hierarchal and managed by the people who take part in it. It is a coincidence. It is a xerocracy. Make your own flyers!


    Bici Crítica

    If you want to join a ride you are totally free to do so, meet 8pm on Plaza de Cibeles near Palace of Communications (actually the city hall), on the last Thursday of every month.

    This month, join thousands in over 200 cities worldwide, and hundreds (more than 800) in Madrid alone, in celebrating Critical Mass.

    Next ride May 29th 2008.
